Santa Maria del Monte (Caltagirone) is an old 142-step staircase, each of which are decorated with a different ceramic pattern. Every year during the Spring and Summer seasons it becomes even more breathtaking as locals adorn it with potted flowers and lanterns, creating intricate designs.
About Patrick Boening
Born near Darmstadt (Germany), Patrick moved to Haifa (Israel) 1983 and 1999 to Toronto (Canada) and after 20 years he relocated to Atlantic Canada (Halifax) in May of 2019.
